A little music on the Metro

A little music on the Metro

I was so tired last night and slept so soundly that I woke  blurry-eyed and a little foggy.  We took the Metro to St. Sulpice cathedral for the 10:45 service and organ concert to follow.  The Sunday morning service really perked me up!   Yes, it was in French but they had the scripture readings written out in English.  Oh!  The organ music was absolutely wonderful!  There was even a choir – not as good as ours but the acoustics made them sound fantastic.  I took a 5 minute video to hear the organ but it’s too big a file to upload.  We then strolled over to the D’Orsay museum along the river Seine.  Another long line to get in but we enjoyed watching all the people.  I love impressionists, especially Renoir and Monet but I was quite disappointed that there were so few Renoirs and my favorite was in storage.  I had heard that it was such a good museum but I was not impressed.  Although the building was magnificent.  By this time it was about 3:00 so we stopped at a brasserie for a late lunch/early dinner right on the river and then took an hour long boat ride.  The last part of the pictures were just sights along the river.  As we were finishing up the dark clouds came rolling in.  I believe we are in for some more rain and cold weather.
