Wow! Another busy, full day around London! We started off with a morning train ride out to Hampton Court Palace where King Henry VIII spent a lot of time. It was very beautiful with extensive grounds. When we got back to central London we went to St. Paul’s Cathedral for a little bit and then went down to Westminster Parliament for a 75 minute guided tour. It was probably the most interesting thing we have done so far. We had a very knowledgeable young man and were lucky that Parliament was not in session so we were able to see more. We are really impressed with the subway(tube) system. They are very efficient! Of course we finished off our day at another local pub – this time a pub called Blackfriars which seemed very popular! 3 out of 4 days I have had fish and chips! They are so good. I am taking Rick Steves advice -“British food is not that memorable but you can’t go wrong with fish and chips”. This city of London is very international. I don’t think we have been waited on by a native Brit. They seem to be young people from many other countries. There are plenty of Americans here but many more German tourists. We are finding it all very interesting!
